Euro Area Inflation Rate Climbs to 2.2 Percent in November

(MENAFN) The euro area annual inflation rate rose to 2.2% in November, up from 2.1% in October, Eurostat announced Tuesday, marking a continuation of upward pressure on consumer prices across the currency bloc.

Services exerted the strongest influence on the annual price escalation across the 27-member union in November, Eurostat reported, reflecting persistent cost increases in sectors ranging from hospitality to professional services.

The services category led ahead of food, alcohol and tobacco, non-energy industrial goods, and energy during the month, highlighting divergent inflationary trends across economic sectors.

Estonia registered the steepest rate among member nations at 4.7%, trailed by Croatia at 4.3% and Austria at 4.1%, demonstrating significant regional variations in price growth patterns throughout the eurozone economy.
